Safe Pro Group (NASDAQ: SPAI) a developer of artificial intelligence (“AI”)-enabled defense, security and situational awareness solutions, entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (“CRADA”) with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (“ERDC”) to collaborate on AI-powered image analysis. The project will explore the use of AI-powered object detection, uncrewed aerial systems (“UAS”) and sensors to collect and analyze data supporting situational awareness and planning for military and civil applications, including disaster response.

Safe Pro said the collaboration will leverage technologies including its Safe Pro Object Threat Detection (“SPOTD”) AI platform, which analyzes drone imagery and video to automatically detect and classify explosive threats and other objects of interest. SPOTD can identify more than 150 types of landmines and unexploded ordnance (“UXO”) and has been deployed in operational environments in Ukraine for nearly three years. Safe Pro’s proprietary dataset includes more than 2.9 million analyzed images, 54,328 identified threats and approximately 37,900 acres of coverage.
